My favourite way to create a drum fall is after the session and the drummer is lugging out his traps case you push him down the studio stairs from behind. It makes a good drum fall. (sorry) PN

(overheard answer at a well know gear sl%t review site ;-)) Well first thing is you need is 6 Neumann U47's in 3 stereo pairs with at least 6 fett between each pair, one at the top, center of the stairs, and bottom, recorded through Neve mic pre's (1072's) recorded flat, going into an Apogee Rosetta 800 (with the Big Ben clock, of course) connected to a Symphony card, into a Mac Pro, with at least 16 gig or ram, and a 2 terabyte dual raid with the 4 drive slots... Make sure the pushee is wearing 100 % polyester, as the cotton softens the blow, and noise of the event, and use wood stairs (wood "sounds better" than cement or metal stairs, UNLESS you wish to make an impulse for Space designer) If you don't have that equipment, you might as well give up cuz it won't be a pro recording, ya amateur....
