I am using Logic PRO 7 with MOTU Traveler. I recently i turned off
"Software
monitoring" so that i won't have that small latency in audio the
musician
hears through BUS channel when he records something.
But, turning off "Software monitoring" I can't use a software
plug-in when
recording.
Is there any way I can use a plug-in in that case?

Unless I'm missing something, the whole purpose of the that feature is to
turn off any plug-ins that would create a delay in the signal, so I suspect
the answer is no. I will be up front in that I can't say that
authoritatively. I just strongly doubt it.

Nope, either use software monitoring and deal with the delay, or disable it
and loose the
plugins. I don't know of any software which gives you best of both in this
case. The computer
needs the latency time in order to calculate the plugins....

The entire premise of turning software monitoring OFF
is so that you don't monitor through the software, thus
incurring latency. So you have to monitor before the
software, via hardware.
However, Logic8 has a kind of hybrid called "Low Latency
Mode". It allows live audio to be rerouted around high-latency
effects (but you're still monitoring through the software of
course). But in the case of low-latency effects, these can be
heard. The manual explains much.

There is a fairly simple way to mix soft "Reverb" into a
"direct monitoring" setup.
1. Use up a reverb on a bus insert, as a test use AVerb.
Reverb Mix at 100%, predelay OFF. (your audio card's latency acts as
predelay)
2. Use an "Input" object, the first send should be set to the
bus with the AVerb. Set the bus to "Pre".
-The Input object's bus send level is the reverb input level.
-The bus level fader is the reverb output level.
If a vocal or instrumentalist only needs reverb or echo mixed with
direct monitoring, this method works well.
