Could it be that the track is locked in the Arrange Window? Try the
Configure Track Header contextual menu in the Arrange Window - set it
to show the track lock buttons, and see if maybe the track is locked
there.

Thanks Eli - tried that per your suggestion and that didn't affect it
either. I'll puzzle it out
some more here.
