ouch! That's awful. I cant imagine having 20 PROJECTS of the same song for
a feature film. That would KILL my disc space. If this is true that's a
deal breaker for me. I also work in a very similar way that you do there
Eli.

Many if us work this way.
I will wait for 8.1 or 8.2 or 8.xx as L8 is not ready for dealing
with film and tv work in my opinion.

If that is your gripe don't worry, you can do a save as and have
different song versions inside the project folder accessing the same
files.
I do it all the time. Several times today in fact.
I do have a complaint about the save functionality but it is different.

Or they can just go through the assets and dont let it copy anything.
Its really not that tough to actually read and use the options that
Apple provided you.

If you still have a G4 or G5 that's ok, but once you get an intel mac, L7
won't export audio to your selection in the arrange for a quick little qt
video. This is fixed in L8 for intels macs (or at least my 2xquad core).
That was the deal breaker that made me dive in to L8 while it was still
point zero. Even though I read Mac for Dummies about ten years ago that you
should never get an x.0 version of anything!
