Subject: [LUG] M-Audio KeyStation Pro88
Message #233999
Hi all, I recently bought an M-Audio KeyStation Pro88 to replace my smaller controller. I'm having a rather elaborate new desk / work station built which will be delivered next week. The desk is custom made to fit the M-Audio though I never tried the keyboard with Logic, just assumed it would work. I tried the action in another studio and it seemed okay. I'm feeling a little careless about this now in that someone just posted about a problem with an M-Audio keyboard and L7. Please tell me that I might have been careless but I"m also lucky, that when my new setup is installed it will be fine and dandy:) Anyone using this controller with L8? Thanks! Hi Judith, Just a quick note. I find using the Pro 88 with Logic is pretty straightforward...IF you set up your own templates and such. I have never had any luck with the factory supplied (or downloaded) templates...the control assignments seem screwy and there are duplicate midi cc assignments in the default configs. It's pretty straightforward to set up in L8. I loaded a default patch into the pro88. (m-audio makes one with available midi cc's assigned to each controller.) I simply used the L8 midi learn to make assignments to onscreen controls, then saved the L8 song as a template and *POOF* done. anytime i use that template, i've got 8 tracks with pan, 2 sends, mute, solo, and volume already assigned. can't seem to get the transport controls to work yet. using the enigma editor from the m-audio site makes it whole lot easier...once you get the hang of that editor. (not hard, but it takes a minute.) hope that helps. good luck, george
