Subject: Converting a logic song to mp3!!!
Message #231969
Well my first song is recorded, it plays all the way through perfectly, and it sounds great. Once I start converting it to mp3 however the song plays back like it's supposed to but then in the middle of the song it stops playing back but continues with the converting process. When I play the song it stops playing where it stopped playing back in the converting process! what do I do?!!

As for correcting the problem with the realtime bounce... ..what's going on when the system pauses? Does it do it at the same place everytime, does a track with a lot of plugins become active at that point or are the pauses at different parts of the song each time it's bounced. HW

well when it pauses the bounce still seems to be going but the playback stops and it continues to bounce and then converts. And yes this happens at the same time in song everytime. What is an offline bounce and how do i do it?

actually nvm I figured out the bounce offline and it worked thank you very much! Does anyone know how to fix the realtime bounce though?

If you >freeze processor intensive tracks, do you still have this problem? >Mike A speculation. Let's see what the main difference is... he can play through the tune in real-time without problems yet on a real-time bounce audio stops and there's a blank spot both in playback and recording. The difference is during the real-time bounce the drive is simultaneously writing to and reading the drive.. The offline bounce is non-realtime, read/write conflicts are bypassed as the system will take whatever time it needs. I would think he's using a single drive system and either "Journaling" or swap file activity is the cause of the problem. As Mike mentions, it's difficult to tell, have you tried the real- time bounce with the CPU/Disk Activity performace meters visible? Do either of them peak during the pause? HW

Is there a chance you're using a software sampler which, isn't loading all the samples in time? Are you using any plugins on the output that you're bouncing from? Are you using any plugins that are quirky, or that you've had problems with in the past (roll-your-own plugins like Reaktor can cause some problems.) Finally, if you open the performance meters, do you get any sudden spikes on either the audio or disk i/o meters? Mike

Mike Well there are three audio live tracks and then a programmed bass track and a programmed drum track. I am using guitar rig for my guitar effects, but I don't think that's the problem. How do I open performance meters to check for any spikes?

Is there anything significant that happens when the audio goes dead, is this the point at which a new track is introduced or plugins un-bypassed (through automation)? Mike

Is there anything significant that happens when >the audio goes dead, is this the point at which a new track is introduced or plugins un-bypassed (through automation)? >Mike Well when I'm bouncing the track the performance meter has no activity at all on both the audio and I/O...do you mean for me to play the song with the performance meter? If that's the case then it looks pretty normal to me. When the audio does cut out, however during the realtime bounce, it is a part of my song where I make all my tracks stop except the programmed bass, then while the bass line is going by itself the audio cuts off. Don't know if that little bit of info helps or not...
