So, environment muting releases CPU, arrange muting doesn't? I'm also still confused on track volume vs. region volume - shouldn't it be possible to have a track with several stacked regions, with different volume automation? I've gone over the manual, and tried the "convert track automation to region automation" or however it's listed in the options menu, but it doesn't seem to take. This would go a long way to easing CPU, as I tend to have several tracks going thru the same instrument/plug-ins, but need to have separate control of each region's level. What I just figured out (can't believe it took me this long) is building cues sequentially along the time line, setting up the instruments, audio, building the 30 second or 2 minute cue, setting up marker, label it cue 2, and build second cue with same instruments, same tracks. I had been doing everything vertically, making groups, muting, copying channel strips ad infinitum, etc. Going horizontal also obviously gives me tempo control as well. Duh. It's certainly possible, but the volume message affects the same mixer channelstrip fader in each case - so the last volume message wins. The messages are indeed attached to the region, not the track, but do not "trim" the region gain prior to the mixer (as in some other sequencers). > I've gone over the manual, and tried the "convert track automation > to region automation" or however it's listed in the options menu, > but it doesn't seem to take. It can be twitchy. The target region(s) must be selected, and I've found that it seems to want the track automation to be visible too.
