Subject: [LUG] Dumb environment/MIDI question..
Message #231221
Hi folks, I've a feeling I'm missing something obvious here and apologies for the obvious novice question. Since buying LE I've only used the internal instruments for MIDI stuff but was hoping to hook up some external gear tonight. I used to run my external gear via a programme called MED on the Amiga. You simply told MED which MIDI channel a certain piece of kit was assigned to, entered a note and it would play it back. I've been scanning the environment part of the LE maual, looking for how to do this and it seems to be saying I need to create an object for each piece of kit. For example, I have a Basstation. Do I create an object and call it "Basstation"? Having not yet dabbled in the environment at all, I was wondering if there is a way I can just tell LE to play a note on a certain MIDI channel? Sorry if this came out garbled. My head appears to be firmly up my jumper today. thanks folks, Robert.
