Subject: Korg MicroKontrol Trigger Pads
Message #229067
Hey, I'm new to all of this so bare with me. Right now I'm just using the preset Logic and EXS preset scenes when I use Logic Pro. Is there anyway to set up the trigger pads on the microKontrol using Logic so that I can use them as drum pads instead of using the keyboard keys? I've tried myself but can't figure it out. Can anyone walk me through how to set them up so that they'll work as drum pads? Whether it is using a specific drum kit in the EXS and/or Ultrabeat. Thanks, Eric

Yes. Bring the Korg out of the mode where it supports Logic natively. Then you simply set up the trigger pads to send the notes needed for the sampler drum kits, I bet plain old GM will do (C1 and upwards: kick on C1, rim on C#1, first snare on D etc etc). The trick to bring the Korg out of Logic's native influence is to push and hold down the following four buttons in this order: Setting, Message, Scene, Exit. > Can anyone walk me through how to set them up so that they'll work > as drum > pads? They are all GM compatible ("General MIDI", a system invented by Roland for mapping MIDI notes, channels etc to common musical parameters). There has to be some of the KOrg's preset that support GM Drum Kit by the trigger pads.
