Hello everybody,
I would like to introduce myself to this forum.
I'm here more to learn about the technical stuff than to dispense with any
advice. I was by no means born with the Logic-manual in my head!
It's great that you are all here. I look forward to ask silly questions with
everybody.
Therefore my first question:
In the grid Editor (I think it is called like that) there is a graphic
representation of the Keyboard.
Why do the keys not move (like in the plug-ins) when playing via Midi in?
I often need to "construct" chords because of my lacking musical
abilities
and this would be VERY helpful.
I know that Cubase once (Atari time) had this function.
thank you very much

Play a chord and look at the Transport.
The chords played are displayed in the Trasnsport.
Great stuff.
Helps to "find" that chord.

It's called the Matrix Editor. I've been wishing for keyboard
animation in this window for over 10 years.
It works in the EXS24 editor and various 3rd party virtual instruments.
However, in the Matrix there is a small readout that tells you
what chord SELECTED notes are.
And in the Transport (separate floating window version), it tells
you in realtime what chord it's seeing.

Same here.
In addition, having at least some choice about the Matrix Editor displaying
an actual keyboards layout of white and black keys straight on the grid
(rather than just displaying alternating white and black lines) would be
immensely helfpul, if you asked me.
