Subject: [LUG] OT: Classic Drum Machines Samples
Message #228174
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows of good sample libraries (or web resources) for classic drum machines such as Linn, Simmons, Oberheim... preferably in EXS-24 format. I'm into Prince type sound so pointers to any good resources for that sort of drum sounds would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Laurent

Does anybody know if these have been posted elsewhere, or if Hollow Sun just got smart and started selling them instead? I can't remember for sure, but I think they were all in Akai format originally. Easy conversion, though, as they're all single-layer instruments. Or maybe somebody else converted all of them for us Logic users? It's been too long.

Hollow Sun's old freebies are now in Zero G's "Nostalgia" collection. http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/linn_lm1/ Luckily for you, I sampled mine a few years ago and posted them on my NI Battery users group (under "files"). http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/battery-users/ G

The trademark clap I recall was the factory clap on the Drumtracks detuned a few semitones... The files are zipped. when you unzip them, you will get a folder that contains the samples and Battery file. Just tried it, works fine here... Yeah OSX automatically unzipped them. I can't play them as described.

try this site: http://www.denhaku.com/r_box/r_box.htm it's in japanese, but getting the samples is still easy. (only a LM-2 there, though, don't know if that will spoil your fun...;) Kai --------------------------------------------------------------------- canine_at_waf80_dot_de good night europe. http://kainiggemann.de <your name here> johanniterstrasse 17 48145 Muenster ---------------------------------------------------------------------
