I want to send midi clock from Logic Pro 7.2.3 to other apps (Rax, Melodyne
or VJ applications like Union), but this doesn't work, I must be doing
something wrong...
when I load a beat-synced plug-in in Rax I can hear that no sync is
happening with logic. in melodyne the "receive midi sync" option
is greyed
out, and Union doesn't receive the midi clock neither.
Sending midi clock to hardware ports does work, I can sync the kaoss pad
e.g..
In Ableton Live sending midi clock over the IAC bus to Rax works, but no
sync with Union or melodyne in Ableton Live, too.
The song settings in logic are:
midi clock - send midi clock to destination 1 called "Spectrasonics
(IAC
Driver)" is checked.
sync-modus is internal
Global sync settings:
midi clock - allow song position pointer when playing
in logic the IAC Driver input is blocked in the environment with a monitor
to prevent a midi loop.

)

I have tried with Kontakt 2, same problem.
Looks that Logic is not sending the midi clock to the IAC
In Song Settings : synchronization : MIDI - have you set the
destination of Transmit MIDI Clock to IAC?

While I missed the start of this thread I must ask have you actually
created one or more IAC busses in AudioMidi Setup? You actually have
to turn it on and then create a bus...

sorry for the late answer...
yes, I have set the destination of transmit Midi clock to IAC, and the IAC
bus is enabled. I use it to send midi notes to Rax, that works.
(by the way: is there a possibility to get e-mail notification when there
are new posts to a thread?)
Was there ever a resolution of this issue? I am now facing the same
problem... except with Logic and Guitar Rig 2 standalone.
(I want to use the standalone version in a live setting to avoid having to
record-enable tracks during a performance).
Using MIDI Monitor, I can see no clock being sent over IAC.
Is this by design or is it a bug?
I'm using LE 7.1.1 on 10.4.10.
