Hi George. Well, I was begining to think Apple was giving wrong information
about this,
but I went back to Logic Express 7.1 description web page to check again and
the info is
still there.
Logic Express 7.1 do have Markers.
Finally.
Some other 2 members here also confirm my information to Darlene.

Read the whole article, especially, "note, another note, yet another
note.
The OS needs to support dual processors. That would be WinNT sp4, Win 2K or
XPPro. I don't think XP home supports dual.

I just run Apple Software Update. Is there a reason I should not do
that?

They are likely 360kb or 720kb DOS-format floppies. I doubt any modern
USB floppy drives will cope with those, and OS X does not support
floppy drives anyway.
You might be able to read them on a PC, then upload the files to the
net or otherwise network it to the G5, but you'll still have the
problem of reading the C-Lab native file format into some translator
utility to obtain a standard MIDI file. You're more likely to find a
Windows utility than a Mac utility I would think, if they exist. Anyone?

Is there a simple way to bounce a mono track to a mono file?
As far as I can tell, the only way to do it is to output the track to a
different Output
channel, then bounce that channel. If there's a way to avoid the extra
step(s), I'd be very
grateful to hear about it.
Thanks!
Mike
No you're cool.
I just couldn't see it cos I'm still on 10.3.9

I'm not sure if OXs will see a M-Dos disc, but I think it does. If
so, copy the files to your Mac, and open them in Logic. I remember
that the file formate should work, but I have never done it.
I suppose the purchase of a usb floppy would be the first step to
finding out, eh..

On the Physical Output fader, click on the button at
the bottom left corner. This will change it to a mono
output (only odd numbered outputs will have this button,
1,3,5,7 etc...).
The bounce button in this mono physical output will
bounce to mono.

Yes they are back.. and yes, not very well implemented. Should work
the same as Logic Pro, no?
Either way, there ARE now markers in LE 7.1.

Check through the webzine at UA. In one of the online articles they
have a chart that tell you how many what work on what system..

I've transferred them over from my old Atari years ago as
standard MIDI files. That was the only way I could find to work it.
I used a program called Dust and dumped them onto floppies. My G3
that I use for business work has a floppy drive. I just ported them
onto ver. 7.1 on my G4 laptop a few months ago with no problems.
Dust was a little tricky getting the right configuration re
the floppies. I remember cursing a lot and using trial & error to
finally land on the right combination. It's been quite awhile so I'm
sorry I can't be more specific.

Is there anything I can do to see if a company will do a group buy on a
product we can all
benefit from ? therre are some plugins that i dig but are a little
expensive but I could afford
them in a group buy .
Just Curios
I recently began experimenting with the PC version of logic when one of
my mac friends let me play on his system. While setting up 5.5.0 on PC,
I checked the PC AV:EASI box and it asked me to restart logic in order
to change the settings. After I restarted my computer, Logic refused to
work. Every time I start the program I get an error when it trys to
load the PC AV:EASI. I've tried uninstalling and clearing the registry
values it leaves behind, then reinstalling with no avail. Can anyone
help me get past this problem.
thanks ahead of time,

I confess that my music machine is still Panther .3.9. My Powerbook
is Tiger which is why I saw the update through ASU. All I've really
done in Logic on this machine is use it as a live synth rack and
tiger is just as good as the same application under Panther - but
this is not asking very much of the system...
I've just put $$$ down on a brand new Dual 2GHZ (the current model up
until last week) so will be moving my Multiface & 2 x UAD cards into
this new machine and will see what Tiger does then I guess.

just installed it on the G4 no problem!!
however our G5 will NOT REBOOT after installation
we have tried taking all periferals off and tried
restarting at least ten times
gone back to the basic bare bones keyboard and apple
mouse and still will not get further than the desktop
where it gets horribly stuck
we had two kernal panics and the dreaded 747 getting
ready for take off sound
everything was "as well as can be expected " until the
update . . working great all day until the update
any help greatfully received
thanks

I haven't tried anything nearly as ambitious as any kind of holophonic
plugin :) Well, I
compose electronica, and I guess my favourite Logic native plug-in which
creates width or
various spacial effects is the Spreader, which is in the Modulation group of
plug-ins. There
aren't many paramaters but I like the stereo effects you can get from it
without the
syrupy-ness of sound that you get when you use a Chorus plugin. Choruses
might make
stuff sound bigger/more prominent but the spreader can push sounds out to a
different
place in your ears.
Hello all, I really hope that someone can help. I am using Logic 5.5
in Windows XP on a very speedy 1.6 ghz Pentium 4.
THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING: There is a delay between the time I hit a
note on the keyboard and when I hear it. This is what I have done so far:
1. Removed all old non-audiophile sound drivers
2. Removed Soundcard
3. Uninstalled all Delta Audiophile software/drivers.
4. Reinstalled all updated drivers from m-audio website.
5. Reinstalled hardware (soundcard)
In addition, I have messed with every possible setting in the
soundcard in hopes of success but the situation is still exactly the
same regardless of what I try.
I am dying to record a song but can't because of this. HELP!
Thanks,
donn
does any body know about this problem? running g5 w/logic pro 7 have 2 motu
898hd interface 8 channels a piece total of 16. g5 only few months old had
to upgrade to tiger to get both motus to work, created aggregete file to
combine the two per instruction but in the audio midi setup page it's only
showing 8 channels highlighted anyone heard of this before and know how to
correct note one or first 8 channels work fine just can't get other device
to record all connections checked good firewire cables and showing signal on
motu unit just no sound in logic. anything would be useful thanks.
