Alain, That's exactly the method I followed after checking with folks here. I set up three Aux objects (kick stays with main out; snare to Aux1, toms to Aux2, and cymbals to Aux3), edited the drumkit to assign the zones/groups to the appropriate EXS outs, and set each Aux's input to the respective EXS out. But no matter what I tried, all the drums still came out of the main outs only. Further research on the web leads to explanations of this method using the EXS24, but no references to the EXSP24 (which I have). Is it possible the EXSP24 doesn't support doing this? Thanks, Arch

Subject: Smpte Logic and Sync Problem
Message #201028
Anyone out there got a handle on logics sync capability.... Im trying to sync logic to a 16ml projector running smpte - using a motu midi express with smpte input from the projector sending mtc to logic and everything starts ok.... but then it always drifts out of time presumably as the projector speed is not constant - though i assumed that as logic is receiving the smpte/mtc and checking it continually it would stay in time with the timecode on the film.......... I am only using the analogue out of the mac at the moment and it has been suggested i needed an audio interface that would enable the sync to change the sample rate of the audio to keep it in time Anyone got any ideas or solutions ?? thanks in advance mick

Subject: Newbie: Problems with iDrum and adding tracks
Message #201029
I am using Logic Express on an iMac 2Ghz, with 2G memory and an Ozonic, Tiger 10.4 I installed iDrum and the updated component file. It now passes the AU validation, but I cannot see the plugin in Logic. Also, for some reason Logic won't allow me to add any new audio tracks. I get a message "No new tracks available." Thanks in advance for any help. Steve

To get more tracks you might have to go into the Audio Hardware Driver page and increase the number where it says "Maximum number of audio tracks". As for seeing iDrum are you looking for it in the instrument menu where there is EXS EVP etc listed? Another thought is it's possible to pass AU validation but still not have the box checked in the AU Manager - in which case it would not be available. Check here also. Is it >possible the EXSP24 doesn't support doing this? Hi Arch, If you can select the output in the edit window, then it's not a EXSP issue. Something I forgot to tell you in my previous post is that you'll have to assign each of your Aux Out to one channel of your multi inst. You do that by clicking on the input button of the aux (just above the output button) and a pop up menu will open. Something else that I find very annoying is that - in the arrange or Mixer windows -,tweaking an Aux out is selecting it, and, selecting an Aux Out is unselecting your EXSP mc,which means that,in those windows, you cannot hear your instrument and adjust the aux at the same time!!! .The only way I found is to first select your inst, then open audio layer of the environment window to access the sub mixer. There, you cannot select or unselect channels but you can tweak the parameters you want. The best then,is to dedicate a screen set for this. Hope those adds will make it... Alain

Nothing. Groove quantize templates created by the user can not be stored "permanently". To move templates between songs you have to lift over the MIDI region that serves as blueprint for the template. > i know logic is telling me something bout creating a GROOVES folder on > the hard drive.. anyone know more information on this?... Yes. That folder is to store DNA Grooves, not user created Groove Quantize Templates.
