Currently not, because the BCR2000 does not have a C4 emulation mode,
in contrast to the BCF2000 which does have a Logic Control emulation,
among others.

I'd suspect that they soon would. When we see this C4 come to market,
I'd guess well see an emulation mode within the month...

Hmmm, my pragmatic side says that it will not happend. Since Mackie
UC is supported by many platforms now, I doubt they will release it
just because Logic 7 now supports it. I would love to see the unit,
but I think it is not going to get released at this point. But I
would love to be proven wrong.

It really seems like they have ramped up the specs on this version of logic.

Anyone out there know of how efficient it is (with freeze tracks and all)

I don't know about you, but I use the martix window because it is an
informational display/editor. I can look at it and know the notes being
played, when they are played, how long they are held, what velocity they
are, and with hyperdraw view, all the details such as volume, etc. Gripe
about a feature Cubase has sure, but that analogy is a no go. It's more
like seeing everything out the window but wanting a text display telling
you what you are seeing (when you can just look). Hey, I'm not against
what you are asking, but you can't expect such a high priority on something
that is only useful to a small amount of people. I kind of agree with
Sascha in that it would be kind of annoying, but that's just me. Personally
I thin linking an event list with the matrix editor would be much better
than what you describe. Again, that's just me and my only point is that the
martix is hardly rendered useless by not having this feature.
Now the ability to name notes is another story, that would greatly help in
editing drum tracks.

Brilliant News! I knew it was a core audio restriction but hadn't heard

I've been told that Upgrade B, which was the path from BigBox/Express
to Pro will also be available for Logic 7.
I sure hope that's the case...

Thanks Michael, are there plans to display the long filenames in the

How cool would it be to just select your audiotrack and have the Channel EQ
ready to go
on the C4, doing away with the need to go click click click click on a main
MCU.

I totally agree with Michael and those who say that this upgrade really
worths.
I remember the Emagic presentation in January at NAMM, I was wondering
"Wow, how does
it costs all this?" Now, all this software is bundled with: new
architecture upgrades, others
10 new plugIns, including Lin-Phase EQ (do you remember the price of the
Wave's one?),
Apple Loops library, and, if you're not completely satisfy, they give you
Waveburner, for
the first time for OSX. How many time and human resource you think all this
needs to be
in your hands for only $299??? I just upgraded to Pro 6 last week, and I'm
not sleeping
waiting for the Italian release of Pro 7.

Yeah, maybe if my memory was better. Remembering the mapping on the
Behringer units would make them difficult to use, I would think. The use of
electronic "scribble strips" on the Mackie Control stuff is really
terrific.
The Behringer stuff is sure cheap, though, and I love that it has USB. It's
peculiar that a port for a complicated protocol like USB is way cheaper than
for a simple protocol like MIDI.

Soundhack can do this (and a million other things as well), and it's free.
Go to

You only need to buy Logic once. The node software can
be installed on unlimited Macs.
Gigabit (1000Mb/s) ethernet is supported. Use 100Mb/s at your
own risk, but it has been known to work. It's not necessary to
use Apple's ethernet connection (3rd party cards ought to work,
which is a good idea if you don't have Gigabit.... just buy a card).

Do you need something beyond what Freezing the track provides?

I do: the ability to cut 'n slice the bounced file and manipulate it
graphically as an audio region. Currently, on audio tracks, I have to
unfreeze, edit, refreeze (600 hundred times!). And with AI's the regions are
midi, but at some point in production I need to work with and edit
waveforms.
Plus, with Audio Instruments like Spectrasonics, which take >30 seconds
each to load up when opening a song, a 'bounce in place' would let me remove
the Instrument from the song, greatly reducing load times on most of my
songs (which can take up to 5 minutes to open).
There're other reasons too, but for me those 2 alone are worth implementing
the feature.

When I click on this button, do the approriate buses and auxes involved also
solo? So that I hear the verb on the snare, or the snare thru the drum bus?
Yes? Please?

Trust me; apart from my first sampler in '86, our G5's were the best things
we bought for
