Well, the truth of the matter is IMHO, that Logic has always been
more finicky than these other programs, that you mentioned. I have
those products also. You have to get things set just right, and then
it works well enough, so you can enjoy all the bells and whistle this
incredible program has to offer.
That's my only concern with Logic. I am a Logic guy, I love this
tool. I base my entire musical life with it. I have for years. But
Logic is not bullet proof. For that matter what is? I'm hoping for a
breakthrough of some kind with the developement of this software, that
will make it bullet proof. I'm here for the long haul, so I can wait.
But anyway, sorry...back to your problem...have you done the "Logic
Audio Device Setup"?. Also, if you haven't yet, go to "Audio
Hardware
& Drivers", in Logic. disable all but, on the 2nd tab (audio
driver2), "enable the ASIO driver", ok? I have my
setup(Hammerfall)
set like this:
Volume Smoothing (50)
Max Audiotracks (32) or whatever
16 busses )clicked), and Universal trackmode
20/24 bit recording (clicked)
Software monitoring (either way)
Larger Process Buffer (clicked)
Larger Disk Buffer (not clicked)
Leave the delay alone at zero
Not sure if the Max I/O streams settings matter....mine's at Max
If all that's set like that, and you're still having clicks and
pops, start disabling things, like any networking stuff, bring your
graphics acceleration down one notch from all the way up. Are you
using any USB? What is it? What mobo are you using? Logic is gonna
want things more perfect than the other applications that you
mentioned, that's just the way it is. BTW, is it pops and clicks like
you'd have with the clocks not being right or is it bigger pops and
more stutters, that brings up the "ASIO warnings"?
regards,
