I have a amd computer now.It rocks........1.1 g thunderbird with asus a7v and 256 ram. I guess you should not go for athlon if your not ready for some possible extensive tuning .It took me over two weeks to figure it out. Finally changing my video card did the trick. You should maybe consult the archives....theyre were some post a few weeks ago and some people talked about some other motherboard wich was more reliable for amd. It is mentionned in the 4.something update info file the logic is now optimized for pIII processors. Optimized or not for pIII it sure works on amd as well. Good luck! Ps.
