At that time when it came out, there were virtually no 24bit cards out there. 2) Emagic just announced the new USB EMI 2|6 that is fully 24bit compliant. 3) The AudioWerk8 is very cheap: Half price compared to what it was 4 years ago. 4) The AudioWerk8 resolves MTC to SampleRate, something that NOTHING on the planet does for remotely this price. 5) The AudioWerk8 at 16bits sounds better than some 24bit cards out there. It's really a trivial matter to capture this many bits - it's much more difficult to make it sound good. 6) An immense amount of post-audio work (and some music) is still done with 16bits, even in the presence of 24bit hardware.
