Subject: LAM & OT: Reaktor and Logic
Message #40582
Another message I sent to the list yesterday, but never saw over come back from the list processor: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- I'm hoping to use Reaktor with Logic on my Mac. Two questions come about: 1. First, a Reaktor-only question: Microtonality is a big piece of what I do. If the rumors I've heard are correct, the PC version allows you to define a completely arbitrary pitch table: I can tune each of the 127 MIDI notes to any pitch I want, completely independently of what I set any other MIDI note to play (that as opposed to, for example, tuning each note within a C-to-C octave and that single-octave tuning table is replicated on octave boundaries). Does the Mac version have the same flexibility in that regard? 2. Second, regarding the Reaktor/Logic interface: Reaktor apparently hooks into Logic as a VST plug-in. What does that mean on the audio and MIDI sides. Does Reaktor appear as an object in the Environment window that I can then create a track for in the Arrange window? On the audio side, does it produce one or more audio tracks, or does it use ASIO to send audio out my audio interface (MOTU 2408)? Can it do both (out the 2408 and into an audio track) simultaneously? Thanks for the help!
