Anyone familiar with midi-guitars >and their usefulness as trigger devices? I am not a keyboard player, >so I was considering a Roland ready Strat and a GR-33. But it is not >cheap, and I am not sure how the tracking is. Any suggestions? well I use the GR1 and GK2 Ive had it for 10 years. The tracking is always going to be crap. You have to play around with each strings sensitivity in the unit. Also u need to have the pickup of the gtr synth set up properrly and sitting in the right position on the guitar so go to a pro technician. How far the string vibrates from the pick up let alone avoiding contact is important. As mentioned its great for sustained chords or slowing logics tempo down and playing it slowly. But you wont believe the amount of pitch bends that show up in logics event list its unbelievable . I havent found a gtr synth yet that can eliminate a huge load of 'after programmming' nevertheless what a blessing these tools are for guitarists Regards Ivan Bertolla--Composer,Arranger,Guitar Teacher,Sound Library Studio Music From Another Planet P.O.Box 750, Macleod,Vic 3085, Australia http://www.bertolla.com _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
