I'm with you Barb! I recently did a full orchestral score + parts on Logic,
it was the first time I'd attempted anything that big on it. My God, what an
up-hill struggle to try and suss out Logic's niggley way of working. It's
like every time you want to do something you have to work out how to achieve
it within the software's "rules"... during that job I sent many
posts to
this list desperately trying to find answers. To be honest if I get another
big orchestral gig I don't think I could put myself through that stress
again. I can understand why Sibelius are in a position to charge £500
for
their software!

That'sa

I think what the original poster (sorry don't know your name) was referring
to was the unorthodox way in which Logic displays note lengths and rests in
triplet time. It doesn't seem to be able to automatically split the bar up
in to x number of dotted crotchets (that's dotted quarter notes (I think!)
for our friends on the other side of the pond ;)). Without a LOT of
manual
tweaking (eg inserting invisible rests... wtf is all that about?!) it's
impossible to come out with anything representing a professional score.
Sorry for so many negative comments - I'm sure with a considerable amount of
time spent just experimenting I could eventually master how do achieve most
things. To be honest I don't have the time. But hey... the rest of the
package kicks ass (well most of it :)
Take it easy
Harry.
