Turns out the sound issues y our friend was experiencing was pretty
common and perhaps is related. And there is an reported update released
for that as well.

The audio update should be available via software update as well.
Hope that helps! I'll keep digging on this USB audio latency though... I
can't really spring for a firewire unit right now. :-( And we had a MOTU
828 (original) that recently died. Doh!
