Subject: Key commands query....
Message #231975
Hello Luggers, I am new to Macs and Logic 7, having come from a PC background. I knew LAPC 5.5.1 pretty well as I used it for several years. After a break of 2-3 years I am back into writing music and am trying to get my head round my new Mac Pro. The biggest problem is getting used to the different modifier keys. CTRL, Option/ALT, Command/Apple and Shift. It seems very confusing and I really miss the right mouse button and scroll wheel of PC's. Getting to the point of this post, when installing Logic 7.2 and running it for the first time the set-up assitant asked me to choose a set of key commands. With reservation I chose Mac Pro United States option as it seemed the closest . Mac Pro UK would have been nicer. Anyway I am finding that the key commands are soooo different to how I had them on the PC. Have Mac commands always been completely different, ignoring the difference in modifier keys? It is a little depressing thinking that I either have to alter a lot of them or relearn them all. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Lastly does anyone know of a way to import key commands from a pc to a universal binary mac? And does the change in modifier keys get handled automatically? Any help would be much appreciated. As well as any tips/resources for PC->Mac Logic switchers.
