If you are lucky, a web search will find an environment for the XV, which will save you the trouble of creating one. it is a little time consuming, but once its done you save it in your Autoload, and it comes up every time. At the college where I teach, we use the XV-5050 - or at least we did until Logic Pro 7 and the Garageband sounds made it a little clumsy to use. It is just so much more convenient to use sounds in the computer. It must be said though, the XV sounds are pretty damn good - love the drum kits. When we set up our workstations with the XV-5050, we wound up doing our own setup - typing in over 1,200 patch names! Emagic's synth editor SoundDiver (which sets up Logic for several hundred different synths) is now available from Apple as a free download, but I think it is a little too old to have the XV series. good luck! cheers, anthony linden jones Kurrajong NSW Australia http://www.myspace.com/anthonylindenjones
