A bit of an oddity and I'm wondering if anyone has solved this mystery yet.
I was getting "Audio Engine Overload" messages - you know the ole
Logic cant
process all the audio etc, etc. Now someone (maybe Nick?) mentioned that
that goes away if you just hit Stop and then Start.
Well - this problem disappeared for weeks and then recently just came back
again. Now I KNOW for a fact that the there's plenty of CPU headroom
because
even with super huge audio intensive jobs my Audio meter is hardly taking a
hit. I decided to turn on my NODE just for the hell of it and I still got
the messages. Today I got them ALOT. I decided to reboot- same thing.
THEN -
and this ALWAYS gets rid of it - I enlarged the buffer settings and all is
well! (I maxed them out)
But I know what's gong to happen. Tomorrow morning its going to be the
same
deal and I will have to LOWER the buffer settings to fix it again. Somehow
moving these settings around straightens things out!
I was able to live with it for awhile but my (main) fear is that a client
will be over first thing some morning BEFORE I get the chance to use Logic
all
day long and that message is going to occur again. And THAT is just
embarrassing - especially if I have to keep doing this buffer voodoo while
my client
twiddles his thumbs...
Cheers,
