Subject: Problem w/file...anyone do consulting?
Message #231236
I have a problem with a file that seems to be related to cabling and/or midi track settings, but I can't find it. Does anyone do consulting on stuff like this? I'm still unsophisticated enough about Logic that I might have done something pretty dumb without knowing it. Is there a single best way to set things up when you have more than 16 midi channels? I've tried assigning ports and channel using midi instruments cabled to audio instruments. (What I have at the moment.) I previously tried disconnecting the SUM from the midi flow and cabling individual ports to channel splitters, which then feed the audio instruments. I've experimented with using a usb midi device, IACs, and virtual ports. Same problem exists with all. The problem is that about 4 minutes into a piece, one of the tracks suddenly receives what sound like several loud drum smacks...rhythmic. It doesn't sound like that tracks instrument, but I can see the activity in the meter of that track on the Track Mixer, so I know it's showing up there. Only when I start from the beginning of the file. There are no apparent audio files in the Audio Files....this is a midi setup. I've checked the midi event lists around the time of the problem. Nothing. I've deleted everything that's non-essential around that point. No help. If I solo the problem track, the problem isn't there....at least it wasn't today. Anyone want to wade into this?
