Yeah, that's defenitely something to wonder about. But: A) the waveforms drawn during recording are just a really draft approximation. And b), because of that, drawing them should cause minimal CPU overheads, so perhaps it's just one of several ways to put more focus (or priority) on the actual audio recording. On the other hand, a lot of other hosts are drawing accurate (even sample accurate, ahem...) waveforms on the fly while recording, so it can't be that much of a tough thing. Regards Sascha
