AIUI, following your interesting post and a bit of Metacrawlering, I get that VM includes the possibility of swapped-out memory, which will only happen when needed. I've tried watching Activity Monitor Page ins/out, but the numbers are high and don't seem to refresh. They seem to be accruing from previous activities. eg. looking at it now it says 180150/245931 WHat can I learn from this? peter
