The CPU is just sitting around waiting for Your diskdrive to bring in the information it needs. Most Logic users finds that less than 2 Gig is not really usable when using sample based softsynths, and the more You get, the better it runs. Although Logic itself, as of version 7, can't directly use more than 4 Gig, the operating system and other running applications needs memory and any unused memory will be used as file caches for better disk performance so even if You go over 4 Gig You will get better performance...
