I often record long events and have had nightmares with running out
of time despite boatloads of space available on my disk. I had been
setting my tempo down to 10 bpm but there seems to be a strange
phenomenon (I won't say "bug") that was reported in the LUG a
while
back where a setting below 20 bpm actually reduced the recording time
to around 72 minutes. Sure enough, when I started using a tempo of
25bpm I was able to set recording times as long as I needed (or had
disk space available) Also, given Logic's limit on the number of 1/4
notes it will record, I usually change my time signature to 4/16
instead of 4/4, and also, don't forget to drag the max. measure
number out to a point where you have the time you need displayed in
the transport window.
