There's a good explanation in the Logic Pro 7 Plug-In Reference manual on page 33-36 (if you have Logic, you have the pdf and a paper version). In short, you can analyse the characteristics of an audio file and "impose" that EQ on another file. It works best with VERY similar material - eg using Match EQ to analyse an orchestral symphony and using that EQ curve on a rock bnad doesn't make sense. Once you have the resulting EQ, you can additionally alter the amount applied and even alter specific frequencies. I find it extremely useful, in limited use only. Hope this helps Colin
