The old dongles were blue, and worked for either Mac or PC, depending
on the software. I had a version of Logic Silver (not express, kind
of). The key worked for both.
I also had a version of Logic 4 Platinum, which I was able to get
authorized both Mac and Windows as I upgraded, before Emagic was
bought by Apple.
I know the white ones are Apple only.
Hope that clears things up somewhat....
