Subject: [LUG] Guitar Rig 2 in Logic question!
Message #224296
Hi Guys, So I admit this ones not PURE logic but.... I am considering purchasing Guitar Rig 2. I already have Amplitube 2. I seem to be getting more and more young bands who benefit from Guitar plug ins coming to record with me (they don't have an amp "sound" to speak of) but when I'm recording tracking them at low latency with stacks of tracks recording "live", Amplitube causes my Dual 2GHz G5 (4GB RAM) Logic 7.2.3, to glitch like crazy. I end up tracking with Guitar Amp pro then switching to Amplitube 2 on mix down. The "Question" part of this is two fold: a) Does anyone here have any experience of how the audio interface that is part of Guitar Rig 2 behaves with Logic - most especially how it will behave when used simultaneously with another audio interface? (in my case an RME Fireface 800) I'm guessing we are talking core audio aggregate device here and I'd heard rumbles that the aggregate device set up with Logic caused problems at low latency. b) Does anyone have any comments on how "glitchy" Guitar Rig 2 is at low latency, particularly when used at the same time as a bunch of other record tracks? Logic is my only DAW so I'm only concerned with how the hardware and software integrates with that, not stand alone use etc. Any advice appreciated - I'm gonna place an order today if the outlook for GR2 in a Logic set up is sunny! :-) Gareth http://www.hlstudios.co.uk HL Studios, Southampton, Hampshire.
