Subject: [LUG] Logic Pro 7 on a G5 Dual 1.8 disabling a CPU
Message #224292
I've run into a strange issue. I have a G5 Dual 1.8 running Logic Pro 7.2.3. I have 2.5 gig of ram and a stupid amount of drive space. Every so often while running Logic it will crash. So I usually hit the report to Apple button, send the report and then restart it. But in the last month I've had a new issue crop up. Twice when logic has crashed it has turned off one of the two processors. Thus leaving me with just one processor. Restarting the computer does not bring it back online. Turning the computer off for 5 to 10 minutes doesn't turn it back on. Luckily turning it off and unplugging the computer for a couple of minutes does seem to work. I did a search on the Apple discussion boards and I did find one other instance of a dual 1.8 G5 that has had a similar problem. Interestingly enough it was someone who was running Logic Pro 7.2.3 as well and it was in the past month. My question is, how many others are out there running Logic Pro 7+ on a G5 Dual 1.8? If so, have you experienced this issue? I'm kinda curious to know if it's specific to the Dual 1.8 and more specifically to Logic and the Dual 1.8. Anyone? Anyone? Jody Music that makes your soul happy! http://jodywhitesides.com
