Hi
Thanks for all the replies. Yes the motu 828mk2 is
running on its own bus and i'm using 3 internal drives
no external firewires with 3gbs of ram. i don't think
adding more ram should resolve the issue because logic
can't reach more than 4gbs of ram as far as i know.
it's interesting to see other people having the same
problem. here's the weirdest thing i found out though.
not after every crash but after some crashes, my motu
828 goes crazy. the small green display starts showing
gibberish characters. i reset to factory defaults and
that's the only way to fix it. Is logic/mac
pro/coreaudio killing my sound card? is this possible?
I'm usually good at finding the origin of problems in
my computers, but i'm really puzzled by all this. It
looks like there's more than one source of problem.
And yes logic crashes if i want to add an audio file
too. But all of this stuff won't happen in a fresh
blank session. The problems start with bigger
sessions.
The whole thing might be because of running multiple
3rd party soft synths too but i simply would be out of
work if i quit using stylus rmx, kontakt and all the
good stuff NI has to offer. I had problems with RMX in
the past so i'm usually bouncing that right away so it
won't create problems.
Thanks for all the input.
