Subject: [LUG] Intel Mac Pro and Logic 7.2.3 Big Issues
Message #224195
Hello I recently upgraded to Mac Pro and having big crash problems. I'm running 3gb ram, Logic 7.2.3 and a Motu 828mk2 on this system and latest software. When i want to insert a time signature or try to go to one of the menus logic crashes. After the crash if i start logic i can't get any audio from 828. The only way is to reboot the system. But if i try doing the same thing on the same session it crashes again. I have at least 4-5 cues that cause constant crashes if i try changing anything from the file menus. I'm thinking this is a bug or whatever people are talking about when they're saying the coreaudio is messed up with the quad update on intel macs. but it's really strange that i have cues that i can't change my buffer size because i can't go into the menus or insert timecode etc. it crashes logic everytime. this happens on more wider sessions rather than smaller ones. oh one other weird thing is, after these crashes, if i try to open up the file that logic creates under "crashed" it says it's illegal file format. Anybody having similar problems? Can it be because i'm running multiple instances of Kontakt? I'm in the middle of scoring a film and certainly would appreciate any ideas because these crashes are happening 15-20 times a day. Thanks a million ! Kaplan
