Subject: [LUG] Pitch correction in GB/Logic Express/Logic Pro
Message #222941
Hi - I'm new to this user group. I've been a sporadic Garageband user for about a year and just purchased Logic Express (but have not opened the packaging!) I have a question about the extent of pitch correction capability in Logic Pro 7.2 vs Logic Express. I know that Express leverages the Enhance Tuning feature from Garageband, which forces you to tune an entire track at the same level. I would like the ability to focus on a note or region within a track, for those times when I want to finish a demo and am not able to set up a punch-in. If Logic Pro has this capability in its Pitch Correction feature, I might return Express and buy Pro rather than buying a separate pitch correction tool like Autotune to use with Express. Can anyone help me clarify Logic Pro's pitch correction capabilities, particularly in its latest version? Is it better than Digital Performer 4.6's native pitch correction, for example? Thanks!
