Sounds like you Logic prefs file might be locked.
Try this:
Use the find command under the file menu, and enter logic.pro
That should find your Logic prefs.
Get info on the file, and make sure the "locked" box is not
checked.
The finder may ask you for your password before it will let you do this.
You will also need to be the computers admin.
