A little help please? the first thing is: are you assigning the data to a midi track or an audio instrument track? If you are assigning it to midi, you will need to monitor the output of the midi device to hear anything. If you are trying to use a built in audio instrument, have you assigned it an instrument? Have you opened up the pop up box above the output assignment on the audio instrument fader, and selected an instrument from the list to make a sound? That's a good first few things to take a look at...
