Hi I think I had this problem before and solved it! I'm not quite sure but I think the problem was when computer and Hard disk were both sleeping. I put all Energy saver and Screen Saver to off! I remembered that that Digidesign used to recommend that for its software. It hasn't been an issue since. These things probably work in the background anyway and waste energy after all while you do music.
