Yes, I continue to suspect a UAD/PCI/CPU transfer issue is causing many of
these Core
Overloads. I have tried freezing instrument tracks to reduce CPU load, in
turn hoping this
would reduce Core Overloads, which it seemed to (does not eliminate but
reduces them).
But on your advice I will now try freezing any audio tracks with UAD plugs
(especially ones
that are resource intensive) to see if that further improves the situation.

So do I, but I was told by my Mac provider that there is still no such test
available. Were
your RAM problems affecting Logic in some specific way?

Yes, the folks at UA are excellent, and I absolutely love the UAD-1
plug-ins. This just
seems to be one of those issues that is elusive and may be affected by a
combination of
conditions.
