Subject: [LUG] Sequencing Primer? MIDI-less sequencing techniques?
Message #222800
Hi, I just joined the group a couple of days ago and I'm astounded at the level of support and helpfulness amongst you guys! Anyway, I'm wondering if there's some sort of primer on sequencing technique. While I've been dabling with sequencing (hardware and software) for a few years, I have had complaints about my music sounding stiff, mechanical, etc. I'm sure a lot of CC messages to vary parameters during a sequence would help, but again, stylistically I have no idea what works and what doesn't. P.S.--I came to the midi sequencing world from the mod tracker (Impulse Tracker, to be precise) world. Anybody have any tips for entering notes into Logic in a similar way (i.e., qwerty-only?). I know the event editor might be a possibility, but I haven't found a decent way to make this work.
