Subject: [LUG] Getting good drum kits sounds from BIAB midi
Message #221652
Hi. I am a jazz musician hobbyist and have Logic Pro and the add-on rhythm loops CD. But, I find the loops that I have are really not suited for jazz. Like, very little latin or jazz loops, too busy, etc. So, I'm using Band in a Box to get the rhythm and bass accompaniment I want, exporting to midi, then importing into Logic Pro. I'm pretty new to Logic Pro, and also find the documents available to be really poor. My problem is the drum kit track. The drum kit track from BIAB is GM mappings, I'm pretty sure. Logic also supports GM mapping, but the drum kit sounds really crappy and I think it's because the mapping from BIAB export doesn't match with the Logic mappings. So, could someone point me in the right direction to get the drum kit track to sound right? Thanks, Bill
