Subject: Installed VST plug-in, now everything's quiet/distorted
Message #220566
I'm running Logic 4.8 on an Apple iMac. I recently bought the Akai QuadComp VST plug in and installed it (twice over... could that be a problem?). When I tried recording, I found that the sound input was quiet and very distorted. I thought the problem was with my sound module or audio interface (Tascam US-224), but using soft synths and even playing audio directly in Logic results in the same distortion. I removed the plug-in and the problem remains, so the plug-in itself isn't the problem, but maybe its installation was? The QuadComp is a memory-intensive plug-in, possibly beyond the limits of my computer, could that have caused a problem? Thanks in advance!
