Hi Howard, Thank you again for your excellent help. I did everything according to your suggestions and "my computer still works" !!! I also limited the max. memory to 1024 in the BOOT.INI with the second 1GB RAM in the computer. The funny thing I am observing: After all these changes, with only 1GB RAM installed, the spinning was the same as before. After I re-installed the second 1GB RAM although with a limited max. memory to 1024, the hardrive was spinning significantly less. I can't understand this since the computer sees only 1GB RAM. I would like to ask you to somehow find what symbol it is between the Cache and 920. In the Notepad it was showing again as square and all the other lines have the "equal" symbol =. I might be wrong but I think there should be = instead of square. If you will have the way to verify it I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much. danny Posadka, Calgary, Canada.
