Thanks, I think your potentially useless ideas are great. I have to think more about how I use logic. Most of the time I am arranging and mixing at the same time and I find the modality of certain parts of the application cumbersome. I can't think of a good reason why a plugin or instrument window should be modal. Most of the time I am using the matrix and arrange windows. The current track controller in the bottom right of the arrange window is nice to have, since I don't need to switch to the track mixer much, but the arrange window has to be maximized to allow its use.
