I know the 410, have still one here. I cannot imagine how the interface would make its output to Logic to loud but if your input signal is too hot you have to bring that down. Your description sounds as if you feed the 410 from a source which runs on +4 dB level, the so-called studio standard. The Firewire 410 is -10 dB only. My 410 is currently not in use. I'm not sure if the gain knobs work for the rear inputs when you press the mic/line buttons on the front panel. If they do, you might use the knobs to adjust the level and the pad buttons should work either. If the knobs are only for the front inputs you can try to feed your signal there. But consult the manual about these inputs and check the sound quality. You might not want to run the signal through the preamps. Hope that helps. Btw, you don't have to look in Logic for a solution.
