The Oasys is in a B/W G3. It's connected via ADAT to the FF800. The
LiquidChannel is the separate preamp box, not the LiquidMix. It is
connected via SPDIF(and clock master, clocking works but is not
completely stable either).
The Motu is my old interface, brought back in service again because
its CoreAudio driver performs better with a 128 buffer. The FF800 is
only used as an ADAT/SPDIF/analog i/O & router
so I can use its superior sounding convertors. It feeds the MOTU
via ADAT & AES/EBU. Really elaborate, but this gives me the best
sound and shortest latencies. Unfortunately, it's just not cutting it.
So yo can use a 128 sample buffer with a fair processor load, say
60%. without clicks, crackles and dropouts?
I've asked RME for a replacement FF800 months ago to make sure it's
not just this particular FF800 acting up, but their service is
terrible. I've had to deal with them a couple of times over the last
five years or so, and they have been slow and uncooperative.
Maybe I sould rephrase my question: is anyone able to use his Logic
Pro setup with a heavy(>60%) processor load at an 128 (or even 64)
sample buffer?
