You don't want to do that. What you do want, is to record exactly
like you're doing now, as long as it's done in 24 bits if your end
result (CD?) is going to be 16. No need to worry about the low signals.

That's what compressors are for; to lift the average level without
making peaks louder. I usually end up putting one compressor in
almost every track.
One important thing to keep in mind, is that other than in the analog
world, there is no signal/headroom loss _inside_ the Logic mixer no
matter how low your levels get (between the channel faders, various
plugins and the output fader). There is of course headroom loss while
_recording_ low signals, but as long as you record in more bits than
your end result is going to be, you have a lot of headroom to play
with. (One bit extra _doubles_ your dynamic range, so image what 8
bits extra do).
So, if you record in 24 bits at safely low levels, pump things up
with some compressors and make a nice mix (all non-destructive,
contrary to the energizer) and bounce the result to 16 bits, you'll
be fine. :)
