Subject: help with syncing logic pro to external gear via midi
Message #217973
i am running logic pro 7.2.2 on a macbook pro 15" 2.16 Ghz 1GB RAM. i am using a motu 828 mkII firewire interface with the latest driver 1.4.1 installed. i am trying to slave logic to an external midi clock coming from an akai mpc2000xl via a motu midi express xt. logic will recognize the external midi signal and automatically enter midi sync mode when the master play button is activated but very quickly goes out of sync, not only the audio coming from logic is out of sync but testing the sync with just the metronome from the mpc with the metronome in logic. now i have used this same set up for about 2 years with a powerbook g4 1.5 Ghz 2GB RAM and have never had any sync issues. i just don't know where the issue came from... i don't believe it has to do with the midi signal itself or the motu interface because i can sync up ableton live 5.2 just fine and it stays synced up the entire time. this leads me to think that there is a problem with logic itself syncing to the incoming midi clock. even now i tried to go back to the powerbook and see if the settings are different there but now the powerbook will not stay in sync either. is this an issue with the new logic 7.2.2 update? how can i get logic to stay in sync with an incoming midi clock? any help will be greatly appreciated
